The Director, Travel Product Management role at Rocky Mountaineer presents a unique opportunity to lead the development and refinement of travel packages. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Product & Revenue Management, this individual will spearhead product management efforts, focusing on creating attractive travel packages and products.

This position oversees four key areas: Package Development, Product Build, Yield and Inventory, and Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented leader who seeks operational efficiencies, collaborating with internal and external teams to drive strategies and initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities include:

Package Development
  • Lead end-to-end development of destination-focused travel packages to enhance guest satisfaction and engagement.
  • Analyze market trends and customer feedback to modernize products and packages.
  • Discover new revenue opportunities and maximize existing revenue streams.
  • Collaborate with commercial team leaders to develop package projects.
Product Build
  • Oversee the build of packages, including multiple future operating seasons, promotions, price changes, and other functions.
  • Own and manage pricing structure in the reservation system for profitability.
Inventory Management
  • Design, build, and implement strategies to maximize seat availability, revenue, and hotel block health.
  • Leverage Procurement and Destinations teams to optimize hotel block through partner relations and procedures.
People Management
  • Lead a diverse group, developing and nurturing engagement, and empowering team members to achieve objectives.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for team growth while maintaining RM's core values and individual development.
Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence
  • Identify roadblocks and recommend improvements, ensuring constant improvement of the guest experience.

Requirements:

Education/Certifications/Knowledge:

  • Completion of a diploma, undergraduate degree in Business or Tourism/Hospitality, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • 8-10 years of management experience within the tourism/hospitality industry.
  • Experience leading small to large projects, coaching, training, and managing performance for large teams.
  • Demonstrated excellence in budgetary and fiscal objectives, preparing and managing budgets.

Compensation:

  • The estimated annual salary for this role is $130,000 - $150,000, varying based on job-related expertise, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
