**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced **Lead Cook** to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, preparing meals, creating menus, managing inventory, and ensuring food safety and quality standards are met.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Oversee kitchen operations, including meal preparation, menu planning, and inventory management
  • Ensure food safety and quality standards are met at all times
  • Assist with the culinary training of individuals facing barriers to employment
  • Travel between locations to cover vacations, sick days, and as needed
  • Manage kitchen staff and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes
  • Collaborate with the management team to achieve organizational goals

**Requirements**

  • Culinary skills, including large batch cooking/catering, meal preparation, and menu planning
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
  • Experience in kitchen management and inventory control
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Certification from a culinary institution is an asset
  • Previous experience working in community-based organizations or with marginalized populations is a plus
