Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Mental Health & Substance Use Intake Clinician to join our team at qathet General Hospital in Powell River, BC. As a Mental Health & Substance Use Intake Clinician, you will work as a member of an interdisciplinary team to conduct the intake functions for the designated treatment program, ensuring linkages between clients and appropriate resources occur.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform initial screening, triage, and referrals based on client needs, urgency of request, and best practices to determine the appropriate treatment.
- Provide information to health providers and the general public, establish and enhance relationships/communication within Vancouver Community and other community resources.
- Prepare and maintain client records, maintain and provide accurate intake/referral data and statistics, participate in team meetings and continuing education, and engage in on-going team planning and quality improvement.
- Baccalaureate Degree in a related Health Science discipline (such as Counseling, Social Work).
- Three (3) years' recent related experience in the designated program area or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Registration with Provincial licensing/governing body of profession where applicable.
The hours of work, including days off and work area, may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
