North York General Hospital (NYGH) is a leading community academic hospital in Canada, committed to excellence in patient care. We are seeking an experienced Senior Mental Health Therapist to join our Child Mental Health department at Phillips House.

About the Role

This is a full-time temporary position of 12 months with 8 hour shifts. As a Senior Mental Health Therapist, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and providing individual, family, and group therapy to children, youth, and their families experiencing eating disorders.

You will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide family-centered care and contribute to the development of policies and procedures relevant to the Eating Disorders Program. Additionally, you will participate in research, program evaluation, and quality assurance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide multi-modal outpatient therapy in individual and group settings using evidence-based treatments such as Family Based Treatment (FBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E), and CBT for ARFID.
  • Consult with medical and mental health staff to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Participate in the development of new therapeutic programs based on clinical needs.
  • Initiate and participate in research, program evaluation, and quality assurance activities.
  • Provide education to hospital staff and participate in training and supervision of staff and students as designated.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Registered member in good standing or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
  • Experience in various modes of individual and family therapy for children, youth, and families experiencing social, emotional, and behavioral problems.
  • Experience with eating disorder treatment modalities.
  • Related clinical experience in children's mental health agency or hospital setting.

We offer a highly competitive total compensation package, including benefits, pension, vacation pay, or pay in lieu of benefits, when applicable. The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
