Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist

Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is currently seeking a full-time, temporary Occupational Therapist to join its dynamic Access CAMH team. As a key member of the interprofessional team, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for coordinating referrals to CAMH outpatient programs and providing client support to callers on the public phone line.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Obtain collateral information from relevant sources and conduct phone screens to assess client needs.
  2. Provide family support and crisis intervention where necessary, while maintaining strong clinical documentation and communication with team members.
  3. Liaise with Access CAMH and other CAMH programs, community agencies, and practitioners to coordinate client care and develop effective relationships.
  4. Contribute to program development, provide consultation and education support to team members, and participate in research activities.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, combined with a minimum of three years of experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and addiction issues. Knowledge of DSM V diagnostic criteria, psychotropic medication, and psychosocial rehabilitation principles is essential. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Asset Qualifications:

Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and PowerChart is an asset, as is bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language. Experience working with diverse clients, staff, and organizations is also highly valued.
