Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Hotel Front Desk Clerk to join our team at Ponderosa Motor Inn. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in and check-out process, and maintaining accurate records of guest information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Register arriving guests and assign rooms in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Process group arrivals and departures, taking into account any special requests or requirements.
  • Take, cancel, and change room reservations as needed, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Provide information on hotel facilities and services, including dining options, amenities, and local attractions.
  • Exchange foreign currency and process guests' departures, calculating charges and receiving payments.
  • Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Follow emergency and safety procedures, including responding to guest emergencies and maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages, providing exceptional customer service at all times.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a hotel or customer service environment an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
