Job Title: General Manager

As a seasoned professional, you will lead the Rental Operations team to drive business growth, improve asset performance, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement fleet optimization strategies to maximize ROI, reduce costs, and improve utilization.
  • Collaborate with the President and Branch Managers to establish rental fleet planning and operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Work closely with in-branch and field rental specialists to execute rental operation goals, including forecasting capital acquisition, annual budgeting, and staffing.
  • Manage rental reports, including utilization, lost rent management, and fleet movement to eliminate unnecessary purchases and transfers.
  • Optimize fleet transfers within and across multiple locations, identifying root causes of underperforming assets and suggesting corrective actions.
  • Develop and own rental business and marketing plans, ensuring alignment with company standards and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity within the construction or heavy equipment industry.
  • Highly safety conscious with 5+ years of experience in the heavy equipment industry.
  • Influential leadership skills with the ability to manage a team and create a high-performing environment.
  • Superior planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound knowledge of the heavy equipment or related industries and a proven track record.
  • A post-secondary degree/diploma in Commerce, Business Management, or equivalent.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Work Environment:

The work is primarily performed at the branch locations with a home office at Oakenequipment's HQ in Brampton. Occasional meetings with customers at their business locations, including job sites.
