About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager - Rentals to join our team at Oakenequipment. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the growth and success of our rental operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize fleet utilization, improve asset performance, and increase profitability.
  • Collaborate with the President and Branch Managers to establish rental fleet planning and operations, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Manage a team of rental specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure the execution of rental operation goals.
  • Forecast capital acquisition, annual budgeting, staffing, marketing, and commercial terms, ensuring effective management of rental assets.
  • Monitor rental readiness, optimize fleet transfers, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the local market, staying up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activity.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity within the construction or heavy equipment industry.
  • Proven track record of success in fleet management, with a strong understanding of ROI, time utilization, and financial metrics.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a high-performing team.
  • Strong business acumen, with a solid understanding of finance, accounting, and IT.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
