Job Title: General Manager

As a seasoned professional, you will lead the Rental Operations team to drive business growth and excellence in the heavy equipment rental industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize fleet utilization, improve asset performance, and enhance profitability.
  • Collaborate with the President and Branch Managers to establish rental fleet planning and operations, ensuring seamless execution of overall rental operation goals.
  • Forecast capital acquisition, annual budgeting, staffing, marketing, and commercial terms, while authorizing necessary repairs and fleet disposition pricing.
  • Proactively monitor rental readiness of all assets, ensuring optimal fleet utilization and minimizing unnecessary purchases and transfers.
  • Manage rental reports, including utilization, lost rent management, and tracking of fleet movement throughout locations.
  • Optimize fleet transfers within and across multiple locations, identifying root causes of underperforming assets and suggesting corrective actions.
  • Develop and own rental business and marketing plans, driving growth and revenue.
  • Assemble machine rollout packages and work with Used Equipment to maintain the Bobcat Used website for rental equipment.
  • Manage staff training and development, ensuring a high-performing team.
  • Manage health and safety and risk management as per company standards.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity within the construction or heavy equipment industry.
  • Highly safety conscious with 5+ years of experience in the heavy equipment industry.
  • Influential leadership skills with the ability to manage a team and drive operations.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with solid business acumen and ability to oversee financial operations.
  • Customer-centric with strong interpersonal skills and relationship building capacity.
  • Superior planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Sound knowledge of the heavy equipment or related industries and proven track record.
  • A post-secondary degree/diploma in Commerce, Business Management, or equivalent.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Work Environment:

Primarily performed at branch locations with a home office at Oaken's HQ in Brampton. Occasional meetings with customers at their business locations, including job sites.
