Maintenance Coordinator Job Summary

The Kativik Municipal Housing Bureau is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for coordinating the work of maintenance teams, prioritizing and executing work orders, and ensuring the completion of preventive, regular, and emergency maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and identify priority building maintenance work to be carried out in communities
  • Communicate regularly with foremen and building maintenance employees to ascertain progress and needs
  • Offer support and participate in finding solutions
  • Discuss with housing managers to validate tenant requests and confirm satisfaction
  • Visit assigned communities to develop trust, understand needs, and guide work implementation
  • Collaborate with the Procurement Department to ensure field teams have access to equipment
  • Ensure staff regularly clean and tidy storage areas
  • Participate in identifying labour requirements and recruiting new maintenance staff
  • Act as a mentor to foremen and teams to develop their abilities and skills
  • Receive and approve staff leave requests and authorize staff time sheets

Qualifications:

  • CEGEP diploma in Building Science or equivalent
  • Three years of experience in building maintenance or equivalent
  • Five years of experience in personnel management or equivalent

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in two of the three languages of the region (Inuktitut, English, or French)
  • Knowledge of computer tools and the Internet at an advanced level
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and travel to assigned villages

Salary and Benefits:

The Kativik Municipal Housing Bureau offers a competitive salary, RRSP, cargo, flight tickets, cost of living differential benefit, and interesting working conditions. The starting salary is $35.57 and could be more based on experience.
