The Nunavik Housing Bureau (NHB) is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for coordinating the work of maintenance teams, prioritizing and executing work orders, and ensuring the completion of preventive, regular, and emergency maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and identify priority building maintenance work to be carried out in the communities.
  • Communicate regularly with foremen or directly with building maintenance employees to ascertain the progress of work and various needs and difficulties encountered.
  • Offer support and participate in the search for solutions.
  • Discuss with housing managers to validate tenant requests and confirm their satisfaction following the work done in a perspective of continuous improvement.
  • Periodically visit assigned communities to meet local teams, develop a bond of trust, understand needs, guide the implementation of work aids, and verify the quality of work carried out.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement Department to ensure field teams have access to equipment.
  • Ensure staff regularly clean and tidy storage areas to ensure accessibility, safety, and availability of tools and supplies needed for building maintenance.
  • Participate in the identification of labour requirements and in the recruitment, selection, and hiring of new maintenance staff. Coordinate the reception, integration, and orientation of new employees, as required.
  • Act as a mentor to foremen and teams, as appropriate, to develop their abilities and skills in carrying out their roles, responsibilities, and duties.
  • Receive and approve staff leave requests, and authorize, transmit staff time sheets in accordance with the payroll schedule.
  • Contribute to the collection of performance indicator and dashboard data for all activities under the position's responsibility.
Requirements:
  • Candidate must have a CEGEP diploma in Building Science and/or three (3) years of experience in building maintenance.
  • Five (5) years of experience in personnel management (Note: a greater number of years of work experience may compensate for the lack of a diploma.)
  • Ability to work in two of the three languages of the region (Inuktitut, English or French).
  • Knowledge of the use of computer tools and the Internet at an advanced level.
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in extreme weather conditions. The incumbent must be willing and able to travel to the various villages assigned to the position.

Salary and Benefits:

NHB offers a competitive salary, RRSP, Cargo, flight tickets, cost of living deferential benefit, and interesting working conditions. The starting salary is $35.57 and could be more based on the evaluation of experiences related.
