Job Title: Coordinator, Airports Operations and Maintenance

The Kativik Regional Government (KRG) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Coordinator, Airports Operations and Maintenance. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient management of airport facilities and services in the northern region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and functional direction to assigned staff, including Assistant Coordinator, Airport Maintainers, Observer Communicators, Electricians, and Mechanics.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to airport operations.
  • Work within the Safety Management System to set goals and objectives for each airport, investigate Occurrence Reports, and complete Corrective Action Plans.
  • Conduct regular inspections of airports and review project invoices for approval.
  • Identify training needs and provide training to sites as necessary.
  • Support the northern villages with project planning, implementation, monitoring, and control.
Requirements:
  • University degree or post-secondary diploma in a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in an airport-related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of employee supervision experience.
  • Experience with project management and report preparation, preferably in the transportation industry.
  • Knowledge of airport Safety Management Systems.
  • Proven abilities in planning, organizing, and problem-solving with quality decision-making skills.
  • Good communication and writing skills in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, English or French.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work independently and in a multicultural environment.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary range: $90,231 - $124,068 per year.
  • Cost of living differential: minimum of $8,500 per year.
  • Food allowance: minimum of $1,840 per year.
  • Annual leave trips: maximum of 3 per person annually.
  • RRSP: 7% employer's contribution.
  • Group insurance.
  • Statutory holidays: 19 days, including 10 days during the Christmas holidays.
  • Vacation: 30 days per year.
