Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Planning Director to join our team at CPA Ontario. As a key member of our Financial Planning and Analysis team, you will play a critical role in supporting our organization's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Financial Planning Frameworks: Partner with internal stakeholders to design and implement multi-dimensional reporting frameworks that support informed decision-making.
  • Lead Business Planning and Analysis: Collaborate with senior management to create annual business plans and updated forecasts, and prepare executive-level reports on financial results, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Drive Financial Data Strategy: Play a key role in overall financial data strategy governance, ensuring consistency and accuracy, and aligning with internal stakeholders.
  • Support Financial Analysis and Visualization: Utilize Power BI to provide financial analysis and related visualization support.
  • Provide Guidance and Mentorship: Offer guidance, mentoring, and coaching to the finance team and business unit leaders to support the business with insightful analysis and a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Develop and Communicate Business Planning Calendar: Create and communicate the annual business planning calendar, including budgeting, forecasting, and initiative planning.
  • Participate in Special Projects: Contribute to special projects requiring financial analysis to support operational decision-making.
Requirements
  • Post-Secondary Education: A post-secondary graduate in finance, accounting, or business.
  • Professional Designation: A completed CPA designation.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with a strong background in financial data strategy and governance.
  • Leadership Experience: 4 or more years of people leadership experience, with a proven track record of building high-performing teams in a collaborative cross-functional environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and advanced Excel functions and formulas. Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools is an asset.
