Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Corporate Planning and Performance to join our team at Mackenzie Financial Corporation. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing tax and estate planning support to advisors and planners to assist them in protecting and growing their clients' wealth.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and resolve tax and estate planning issues encountered by financial advisors and provide detailed responses to case queries.
- Provide comprehensive tax and estate planning support to advisors and planners to ensure they have the necessary tools and resources to provide exceptional service to their clients.
- Act as a referral point to sales when tax and/or estate planning strategies uncover sales opportunities.
- Support Mackenzie Private Wealth Client Services by researching and developing comprehensive Tax and Estate summary reports for high-net-worth clients.
- Support the sales teams in advisor/investor education relating to the Mackenzie Charitable Giving Fund, Registered Disability Savings Plan and Tax-Free Savings Plan.
- Expert understanding of estate laws in Canada and experience in dealing with wills, estates, and trust administration.
- Advanced understanding of the mutual fund industry and mutual funds is necessary to ensure tax and estate service provided remains in scope of the department mandate.
- Completion or working toward completion of Levels I, II, and III of the CPA In-depth Tax Course is required.
- Proficiency in the use of various tax and estate planning resources (i.e. Income Tax Act, Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guides, bulletins, and information circulars, Ernst and Young databases, CCH Canada databases) and interpret and apply concepts to real-life scenarios.
