Job Summary

The Supported Child Development (SCD) Assistant provides supplementary staffing support to ensure that children with support needs can participate fully in the childcare settings chosen by their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within a designated childcare setting as part of the childcare team, including childcare setting staff, parents, and families.
  • Ensure the child/ren they are supporting are included in all aspects of the program.
  • Collaborate with the childcare team to provide a supportive and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

Certificate in child development, such as Early Childhood Education, Special Needs Education, Certified Education Assistant, Bachelor of Education, or a combination of related child development training and experience.
