About the Role

As a Manager, Assurance and Accounting, you'll be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of audits, compliance tax engagements, and financial/accounting transactions with Indigenous communities and enterprises. You'll leverage your industry expertise to deliver high-quality results, build strong relationships with clients, and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of audits, compliance tax engagements, budgeting, internal controls, and financial/accounting transactions with Indigenous communities and enterprises.
  • Deliver industry and technical expertise in audit and assurance through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, understanding their business, key risks, and ways to deliver added value, ensuring clients' needs are met and relationships and accounts grow and develop.
  • Maintain quality control using specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address issues relevant to the client's business, financial entries, and reports.
  • Create connections within the Indigenous community, developing business development opportunities and preparing compelling proposals to meet client needs.
  • Mentor, motivate, and inspire team members towards professional and personal growth through clear guidance, constructive feedback, and impactful performance reviews.
  • Maintain flexibility to travel to engage with clients in-person.
Requirements
  • CPA designation.
  • 4 to 6 years of relevant public accounting experience.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities or enterprises an asset.
  • Strong understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles.
  • Proven people management, relationship building, and leadership skills.
