Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services Corporation is a leading organization in the field of justice services, dedicated to providing support to communities across the region.
Executive Director OpportunityWe are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Executive Director to lead our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in law, business administration, finance, or human resources, and will be responsible for overseeing the operations of NALSC.
The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the organization's vision and mandate. This includes managing human and financial resources, negotiating program funding, and advocating for justice services within the NAN community.
In addition, the Executive Director will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with partners, stakeholders, and Chiefs of Nishnawbe-Aski Nation. A strong understanding of the Ontario legal system, as well as experience working with indigenous justice systems, is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of NALSC, ensuring that the organization is meeting its goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the organization's vision and mandate.
- Manage human and financial resources, including budgeting and financial reporting.
- Negotiate program funding and partnerships with external organizations.
- Advocate for justice services within the NAN community.
- BUILD AND MAINTAIN HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS WITH PARTNERS, STAKEHOLDERS, AND CHIEFS OF NISHNAWBE-ASKI NATION.
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in law, business administration, finance, human resources, or a related field.
- Experience working in the Ontario legal system, preferably with indigenous communities.
- Familiarity with geographical area of Nishnawbe-Aski Legal communities.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Ojibway, Oji-Cree, Cree languages would be an asset.
Benefits:
- 6% pension matching.
Location: Thunder Bay, ON
Hours: Full Time (35 Hours Per Week)
Salary: $125,077 annually
