Job Title: Gscs Compliance Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Gscs Compliance Specialist to join our team at Purolator. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations and procedures, as well as coordinating with stakeholders to facilitate customs clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive pre-alerts for incoming shipments and create recovery schedules based on all pre-alerts received
  • Dispatch runners and line-haul drivers according to schedule and resolve any issues arising from recovery attempts
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to facilitate customs clearance, including Canada Customs, brokers, and other stakeholders
  • Work with bonded warehouses to ensure regulatory compliance as stipulated by the CBSA
  • Prepare supplier invoices for payment and follow up on supplier invoice payments with AP
  • Apply customer contracts according to activities performed and enter all billable activities into designated computer systems
  • Work with billing teams to ensure clients are invoiced on time and respond to overseas customer queries related to inbound loads
  • Prepare monthly CLVS reports for CBSA and coordinate with warehouses to manage return shipments
  • Attend to destruction of shipments with CBSA supervision and ensure signed E15 forms are sent to brokers for CREDITS programs
  • Arrange return shipments with export shipping agents and complete export declarations in CERS for return shipments
  • Route shipments and prepare pre-alert documents, book all shipments with airlines, steam ship companies, and trucking firms, and oversee consolidation and assembly of shipments at gateways
  • Coordinate palletizing, crating, etc., for export shipments for Global Expedited Accounts and document preparation for international Global Expedited shipments
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure customer satisfaction and perform other functions as required

Requirements:

  • Excellent administration skills with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with Excel and Word being mandatory
  • Excellent customer service skills and customer focus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingualism is an asset
  • Ability to multitask, accustomed to working with minimal supervision, confident, and conscientious
  • Proficiency in both International and Cross Border import and export procedures
  • Knowledge of Air/Ocean Imports documentation and procedures
  • Experience in multiple freight forwarding product offerings
  • Experience or demonstrated knowledge in Customs Regulations and bonded warehouse procedures/requirements
  • Experience in cutting MAWB, HAWB, Ground Bills of Lading, and Export Declarations
  • Experience in customs documentation preparation and working knowledge of INCO terms
  • CIFFA 1 & 2 certification are assets
