This is a long-term contract role that requires flexibility, including working holidays, evenings, nights, and weekends, with rotating work schedules and shifts.
- Receive pre-alerts for incoming shipments and create recovery schedules
- Dispatch runners and line-haul drivers according to schedule
- Resolve issues arising from recovery attempts, including customs, warehouse, and ground handlers
- Coordinate with stakeholders to facilitate customs clearance and pick-up and delivery with bonded warehouses
- Work with Canada Customs, brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with the Courier Low Value Shipment (CLVS) program and Pre-arrival Review System (PARS)
- Manage supplier invoices, prepare payments, and follow up with AP
- Apply customer contracts, enter billable activities into designated systems, and work with billing teams to ensure timely invoicing
- Respond to overseas customer queries, prepare monthly CLVS reports, and coordinate return shipments
- Ensure signed E15 forms are sent to brokers for CREDITS program, arrange return shipments with export shipping agents, and complete export declarations
- Route shipments, prepare pre-alert documents, book shipments with airlines, steam ship companies, and trucking firms, and oversee consolidation and assembly of shipments
- Document preparation for international shipments, including MAWB, HAWB, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin
- Work closely with Operations to ensure customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance
- Perform other functions as required
- Excellent administration skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
- Excellent customer service skills and customer focus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingualism is an asset
- Ability to multitask, work with minimal supervision, and be confident and conscientious
- Proficiency in international and cross-border import and export procedures
- Knowledge of Air/Ocean Imports documentation and procedures
- Experience in multiple freight forwarding product offerings
- Experience or demonstrated knowledge in Customs Regulations and bonded warehouse procedures/requirements
- Experience in customs documentation preparation and working knowledge of INCO terms
- CIFFA 1 & 2 certification are assets
Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
