About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Director to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee financial management, budgeting, and procurement for both CLEO and OJEN.

This is a full-time position with a majority of workdays spent at CLEO and one day per week at OJEN.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of finance and budget-related matters, including annual budgeting, accounting cycle, financial reporting, and audit process.
  • Management of relationships with credit union/bank and other finance-related suppliers and vendors.
  • Research and investigation of finance systems, software, and emerging technology.
  • Coordination and oversight of other finance-related reporting, such as charitable reporting, WSIB, EHT, HST.
  • Payroll and statutory remittances management, including coordination with external payroll service.
Contract Management (for CLEO only)
  • Oversee management of benefits and pension plans, including contract management.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with third-party vendors and consultants.
Office and Facilities (for CLEO only)
  • Oversee CLEO's rental arrangements, lease negotiations, and relationship with landlord.
  • Procurement of CLEO equipment, furniture, and other supplies.
Other Responsibilities
  • Create and monitor calendars of important dates and activities.
  • Participate in organizational activities as required.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Degree in business administration or related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of professional experience in financial management in a nonprofit organization.
  • Hands-on experience in full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
  • Technology savvy with knowledge of accounting software (Quickbooks Online preferred) and other finance-related applications.
  • A successful track record in setting priorities, analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Very detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
What We Offer

This role offers a competitive salary range between $90,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus health and dental benefits through CLEO and eligibility to participate in the OPTrust pension plan.

CLEO and OJEN are hybrid workplaces with staff working 2 days per week in the office and 3 days per week from home.
