About the Role

Hitachi Energy Canada Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the execution of large transformer field service projects in Western Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive safe execution of projects, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Develop and implement effective project schedules, resource plans, and risk assessments to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Establish and manage project budgets, forecasting expenses, and creating detailed project schedules.
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates for customer projects, promoting operational excellence and customer focus.
  • Participate in monthly project reviews, promoting teamwork and high integrity within the team.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with utility substation construction and utility work sites.
  • A trade education, college or university diploma/degree in a technical field (electrical, mechanical, etc.).
  • At least 5 years of experience in transformer service or other relevant substation/transformer experience.
  • Sound knowledge of and hands-on experience in substations construction, servicing, maintaining, commissioning, and repairing of power Transformers and Power System Equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong customer relationship skills.
  • Goal-oriented and self-starter attitude, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with relevant planning and scheduling tools.
  • Ability to formulate solutions to technical problems, prepare technical quotations, and reports.
  • Safety-minded and proven safe work record.
