Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in the delivery of complex healthcare projects, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of capital delivery plans for complex healthcare projects, including advice and input for formal submissions with recommendations suitable for consideration by Senior Leadership, Board, and Ministry of Health approvals.
• Provide leadership for the delivery of capital projects, including the application of knowledge and expertise into design and construction for projects.
• Advise on planning and procurement strategies in alignment with organizational goals, strategies, and key initiatives.
• Provide leadership to enable the incorporation of evidence-informed construction concepts into the planning of capital projects and designs in support of integrated service delivery and patient-focused team-based care.
• Lead relationship and conflict management on capital project delivery, including risk assessment, quality assurance, and management of escalated issues.
• Ensure contracts comply with legislative, regulatory, and legal requirements.
• Work with other internal partners to educate clients about the construction process and requirements, draft appropriate documents, and maintain sound internal and external relations with customers, senior Leadership, and government.
• Maintain a healthy and safe work environment through compliance with and implementation of applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, responding to requests from WSBC, identifying hazards, and communicating risks.

Requirements

• A degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, architecture, or business administration.
• Proven experience in capital project delivery, including leadership and management roles.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare sector policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
