Your Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Health Care Aide to join our Lethbridge Home Assist Peritoneal Dialysis Program. Your responsibilities will include assisting patients with setting up their home PD and providing support services as needed. You will also be cross-trained to work on the Lethbridge Hemodialysis floor.
Job Summary:
As a Health Care Aide, you will work as a collaborative member of the multi-disciplinary team providing personal assistance to patients who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers to assist with activities of daily living and support services, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with setting up their home PD and providing support services as needed
- Work on the Lethbridge Hemodialysis floor, providing support to patients and staff
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to provide personal assistance to patients
- Assist with activities of daily living and support services, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures
Required Qualifications:
Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Health Care Aide with PD experience. Health Care Aide with current Hemodialysis experience.
