About the Role

Astellas Pharma Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Veeva Solution Lead to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the implementation and optimization of Veeva solutions to drive business process excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Process Expertise: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of clinical/regulatory affairs operations, business processes, and how Veeva solutions support these processes.
  • Value Maximization: Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to define and prioritize features and user stories that align with business goals and deliver maximum value.
  • Innovation & Improvement: Encourage and lead innovative approaches and solutions within the specific area of expertise, and lead the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance platform capabilities and performance.
  • Agile Advocacy: Champion agile methodologies within the organization, promoting best practices, and ensuring that agile principles are adhered to across teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between the agile teams and external stakeholders, communicating progress, challenges, and achievements effectively, and managing expectations and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning sessions to align agile team efforts with long-term business objectives, and contribute to the product roadmap and release planning, ensuring a clear vision and direction.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead retrospectives and other continuous improvement efforts to analyze team processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes that enhance productivity and quality.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and address risks that could impact the delivery of value, and work with teams and stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Performance Measurement: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to value delivery, team performance, and stakeholder satisfaction, and use data to drive decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Reporting: Regularly report on the progress of the various Value Teams and outcomes to your Capability Lead and team members.
Requirements
  • Qualifications:
    • Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Data Science, or Business Administration.
    • Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated relevant experience.
    • Business Process Understanding: Knowledge of clinical/regulatory affairs operations, business processes, and how Veeva solutions support these processes.
    • Proven experience in specific end-to-end business processes and Enterprise Platform Solutions that digitally enable and empower business processes.
    • Excellent project management abilities.
    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated experience working with business to define Epics/user stories/features, as well as conducting impact analysis.
    • Presentation of technical solutions based on business requirements of the Veeva system.
    • Support for technical upgrades on a quarterly basis, including conducting technical impact assessments, addressing technical issues, supporting environment management, supporting testing, and documenting changes per the SLC process.
    • Support for system deliverables and provision of technical feedback during internal and external Veeva Clinical system audits.
    • Collaboration with the internal privacy and security team to assess Personal Information requests and act according to privacy laws.
    • Maintenance and reporting of issues and communication with all stakeholders during project/enhancement phases, service disruptions, and during technical upgrades.
    • Leadership without authority and escalation point for customer issues.
    • Knowledge of support processes - Incident Management, Problem Management.
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • 3-5 years demonstrated experience with Veeva Vault Clinical/Regulatory.
    • Agile Champion: Adherence to DevOps principles and a proven track record with CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.
  • Working Environment:
    • This position is remote and based in Ontario, Canada.
