Job Description

Job Title: Education Support Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Education Support Specialist to join our team at the Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese. As an Education Support Specialist, you will work closely with primary aged children living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and provide support to the classroom teacher and learning support team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with ASD, promoting their academic, social, and emotional development
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher and learning support team to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Assist with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment, ensuring that students with ASD receive the support they need to succeed
  • Participate in professional learning opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with ASD
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture, promoting the values of the Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as special education or a related field
  • Experience working with students with ASD, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a flexible and patient approach
  • Commitment to the values and mission of the Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese
