**Key Responsibilities**

  • **Manage Fleet Operations**: Oversee the full fleet of primary and secondary equipment, focusing on achieving market-based profitability through effective management of all fleet and maintenance activities within the assigned area, including cost control, management development, and high training and safety standards.
  • **Lead Maintenance Team**: Manage maintenance managers to ensure performance and cost focus across the area.
  • **Capital Equipment Requisitions**: Review capital equipment requisitions in line with Corporate guidelines and objectives.
  • **Vehicle Asset Utilization**: Manage effective utilization of vehicle assets.
  • **Vehicle Management Systems**: Ensure vehicle management systems are effectively utilized.
  • **Financial Performance**: Meet all financial review dates and corporate-directed programs in a timely fashion.
  • **Human Resources**: Oversees personnel needs of the department, including selecting, coaching, and training staff and maintenance managers, and evaluating employee performance.
  • **Employee Development**: Motivates, coaches, counsels, and disciplines managers according to WM's policies and procedures, ensuring maintenance managers are in compliance with standards in their administration of counseling and disciplinary steps.
  • **Training and Presentations**: Provides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.

**Supervisory Responsibilities**

The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of supervisory employees:

  1. Direct supervision of 12-14 employees over 2 shifts: 9-11 Techs and welders, 1 supervisor, 1 clerical support, and 1 fleet specialist.

**Requirements**

  • **Language Skills**: Bilingual (French and English) spoken and written, as this role requires frequent interactions and communications with employees, customers, and others who are located outside of Quebec.
  • **Work Environment**: This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc.
