Techo-Bloc is seeking a Financial Operations Manager to join our head office team, reporting directly to the divisional controller. This role will serve as the key resource for all aspects of financial analysis and management related to the accounting operations of assigned divisions.
Daily Responsibilities:
As a Financial Operations Manager, your day begins with a review of financial statements for your assigned area, preparing to present insights to senior management. You will collaborate closely with the Controller to develop the annual budget, analyzing data and forecasting financial trends. Participate actively in monthly meetings with Production Managers to assess spending, staffing, and upcoming capital investments aimed at enhancing plant efficiency. You will also have the opportunity to learn from company owners during weekly strategy meetings, gaining valuable insights into the organization’s vision. Additionally, you will assist the Controller with the AX 365 migration, ensuring a smooth transition by reviewing business processes. Your day may conclude with a request from the Fleet Manager for an updated analysis of fleet expenses in preparation for future equipment purchases.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Statement Management:
- Assist the controller in preparing and analyzing financial statements and accompanying notes;
- Monitor and reconcile fixed assets;
- Engage in the month-end and year-end processes with external auditors;
- Ensure compliance with transfer pricing for intercompany transactions;
- Track prepaid expenses, current receivables, and monthly payments;
- Reconcile various ledgers (inventory, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales);
- Conduct foreign exchange reassessments for payables, receivables, and bank accounts in different currencies;
- Validate payroll discrepancies;
- Allocate shared costs among related entities;
- Calculate and monitor monthly provisions.
- Collaborate with the controller and departmental directors to prepare the annual budget;
- Calculate bonus distributions for departments based on performance metrics;
- Assist in various financial analyses (inventory, sales, cost of goods sold, margins, insurance, process improvements);
- Participate in monthly discussions with Operations Managers;
- Support the controller in the AX 365 migration process.
- Bachelor's degree in administration with a focus on accounting;
- Possession of an accounting designation (CPA);
- 1-3 years of accounting experience;
- Previous experience in a similar role is an asset;
- Experience in the manufacturing sector is advantageous;
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French, both spoken and written;
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus;
- Advanced proficiency in Excel;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Excellent organizational abilities and adherence to deadlines;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
