Job Summary

Mccormick & Company is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager III Plant to join our team. As a key member of our plant leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and administration of the Quality Control function to ensure product safety, integrity, and conformance with customer, divisional, corporate, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain customer quality satisfaction through the implementation and use of programs to control raw materials, in-process materials, production process, environmental conditions, and finished products.
  • Conduct or coordinate customer/vendor visits and third-party audits. Execute plans for continuous improvement for operations. Prepare and oversee customer site visits and audits.
  • Utilize the MHPS Systems to empower and develop their teams using established MHPS systems, core beliefs, guiding principles, and attributes. Perform evaluations and create development/training plans for individuals within the team and manage employee relations.
  • Interact with other division QA managers, directors, and corporate QA leadership. Lead QA teams to develop specifications, BOMs, recipes, and inspection plans for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Manage department staffing, expense budget, and capital projects.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, FDA, and other federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical - Quality/Research/Product Development.
  • Minimum of 10 years of functional/leadership experience with demonstrated significant and relevant skills and consistent results in functional areas and in leadership roles.
  • Strong leadership experience with demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and people.
  • Requires a general understanding of the industry. Requires basic commercial awareness as it relates to competition but only requires limited understanding of the latest developments in the industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of HACCP, Auditing, SSOP's, GMP's, FDA, OSHA, Quality Systems, and Plant Sanitation required.
  • Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide and influence others.
  • Strong cross-functional strategic leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to influence upwards and interact with quality leadership, regulatory, customers, operations, materials, and other departments as needed.
  • Leadership: This job has full management responsibility for the team, including management of people, defining roles and responsibilities, planning for the department's future needs and operations, counseling employees on performance, and contributing to employee pay decisions/changes.
