Your Role at Baxter:

As the Environmental Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Canadian Depot and Field Service Team. This is a hands-on position that will take technical EHS and policy direction from the Corporate EHS functional team. Your primary focus will be on improving the plans, systems, and processes currently in place and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety awareness and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments, Gemba walks, and inspections to identify potential EHS hazards and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented.
  • Organize and lead various employee programs, such as safety training, recognition events, and health initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Canadian Field Regional Managers to prevent accidents and ensure the mobile field workforce is equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform EHS decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Canadian regulatory agencies and lead workplace injury investigations.
  • Manage restricted duty and return-to-work requirements in compliance with Canadian Workers Compensation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, servicing of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or biotechnology.
  • Strong knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety principles and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
