About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Kitchen Helper at East Side Mario's Oakville. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dining room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items, including portioning and wrapping foods.
    • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to meet customer demands.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand, adhering to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas.
  • Inventory Management
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
    • Stock refrigerators and salad bars to ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • General Kitchen Duties
    • Bring clean dishes, flatware, and other items to serving areas and set tables.
    • Load buspans and trays with food and supplies.
    • Remove kitchen garbage and trash, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with high energy levels.
  • Stand for extended periods, handling heavy loads and repetitive tasks.
  • Attention to detail is essential in maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and multitask effectively.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential.
Language and Work Conditions
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 35 hours per week.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
