About the Marine Engineer Position

At Hornblower Cruises and Events, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Engineer to join our team in Gananoque. As a Marine Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional maintenance and repair services for our vessels, including engines, generators, and other mechanical systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize vessel performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless vessel operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Participate in emergency drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness for any situation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the smooth operation of our vessels.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a marine engineering role, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Valid Transport Canada Small Vessel Machinery Operator (SVMO) Certificate or equivalent.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
