About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Practice Lead to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our Provincial Mental Health and Addictions Program (MHAP), you will play a critical role in supporting interdisciplinary collaborative practice across disciplines and service locations.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and mentorship on the development of clinical skill sets, working closely with zone clinical team leads to ensure the best care for our patients. You will be responsible for providing supportive leadership, clinical oversight, consultation, job orientation, education, quality assurance, and initiatives for clinical staff within Provincial MHAP Intake.

About You
  • Current registration or eligibility with the applicable licensing board is required.
  • Masters in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or Occupational Therapy is required.
  • Five years of recent/continuous job-related experience is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the DSM V diagnostic classification system is essential.
  • Supervisory experience and adult education training experience are highly valued.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work from an interdisciplinary approach, are critical.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Clinical Nursing Practice, with an integrated focus on safety, quality care, and clinical excellence, is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in policy development and implementation, as well as effective decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, are essential.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certificate or equivalent is required or willingness to complete.
  • Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
Hours
  • This is a long assignment full-time position, with 75 hours biweekly.
  • Assignment duration is approximately 12 months, with dates subject to change.
  • Occasional evening shifts until 8pm and daytime holiday hours may be required.
  • Travel within the province is necessary.
  • Location is flexible within the province.
Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate of $44.36-$51.73.

Additionally, successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
