We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Mount Washington Alpine Resort. As a key member of our Nordic Operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Nordic Center and ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Supervision: Provide guidance and support to our Nordic Center staff, ensuring that they have the tools and resources needed to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the Nordic Center, including rentals, guest services, retail, and café operations.
- Trail Maintenance: Ensure that our Nordic trails are well-maintained and safe for guests to enjoy.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to our guests, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with our guests, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve problems in a timely and professional manner, ensuring that our guests receive the best possible experience.
- Team Development: Develop and implement strategies to improve staff performance and productivity, ensuring that our team is motivated and engaged.
- Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment, responding to changing circumstances and priorities as needed.
- Education: Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as Tourism, Hospitality, or Adventure Tourism.
- Experience: Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in a resort or hospitality setting.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the Comox Valley and surrounding area, with a passion for the outdoors and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting required.
- Business Acumen: Ability to understand the business implications of decisions and the ability to strive to improve organizational performance.
- Improving Operations: Ability and motivation to apply one's knowledge and past experience for improving upon current modes of operation within Mount Washington Alpine Resort.
- Leadership: Has the desire to lead others, including diverse teams. Sets direction and operates in keeping with an understanding of the industry, political climate, market dynamics and business priorities of the company.
- Empowerment: Ability to share responsibility with individuals and groups so that they have a deep sense of commitment and ownership.
