About the Role

Lifemark is seeking a Full-Time Community Occupational Therapist to join our team. As a Community Occupational Therapist, you will work with clients with various diagnoses and injuries, providing support in the community, both at home and in the workplace, to help them return to their previous level of function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with clients in various settings, including their homes, workplaces, and in the community, to assess and treat physical, cognitive, and psychosocial impairments.
  • Conduct in-home and hospital discharge assessments, home safety and/or home modification assessments, ergonomic assessments, concussion treatment, cognitive rehabilitation, mental health treatment, and other interventions.
  • Provide workplace accommodations and support the successful and sustainable return to work through onsite functional and cognitive functional work capacity assessments, as well as functional and cognitive job coaching.
  • Work with clients to support their mental health through exposure therapy and strategies to re-integrate into the community and meaningful daily activities.

Requirements
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal and orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics, and/or return to work.
  • Willingness to provide in-vivo OT treatment in a variety of settings, including clients' homes, workplaces, and/or in the community.
  • Passion about your profession, commitment to ongoing professional development, and dedication to providing excellent client care.
  • The ability to thrive in a self-directed and independent environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and analytic skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Empathy and an effective ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required (travel up to 1-1.5 hour radius average), paid mileage and travel time.
