About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team in a community setting. As a Community Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to clients with a variety of diagnoses and injuries, focusing on their return to previous levels of function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat clients with physical, cognitive, and psychosocial impairments in their homes, workplaces, and communities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to promote independence and functional ability.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide education and training to clients and their support networks on strategies for maintaining independence and managing daily activities.
  • Conduct in-home and hospital discharge assessments, home safety and modification assessments, ergonomic assessments, concussion treatment, cognitive rehabilitation, and mental health treatment.
  • Work with clients to support their successful and sustainable return to work through onsite functional and cognitive functional work capacity assessments, job coaching, and workplace accommodation recommendations.
  • Conduct in-vivo exposure therapy and behavioral activation, and facilitate trauma processing, coping, and return to function.
Requirements
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Clinical experience in areas such as brain injury rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal and orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics, and/or return to work is an asset.
  • Willingness to provide in-vivo OT treatment in a variety of settings, including clients' homes, workplaces, and/or in the community.
  • Passion about your profession, commitment to ongoing professional development, and dedication to providing excellent client care.
  • Ability to thrive in a self-directed and independent environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, critical thinking, decision-making, and analytic skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, empathy, and ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required for travel to clients' homes and workplaces.
