Deli Department Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the deli department within the store, ensuring seamless execution of tasks and duties.
- Drive sales and profitability growth by implementing effective strategies and initiatives.
- Develop and train department associates in customer service, product knowledge, and merchandising techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized department, adhering to company standards and guidelines.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with other departments to ensure timely replenishment and minimize stockouts.
- Manage departmental expenses and contribute to budget preparation, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.
- Communicate regularly with store management and other department managers to align on store-wide goals and objectives.
- Identify and recruit top talent to join the team, fostering a culture of excellence and inclusivity.
- Lead, coach, and motivate colleagues to enhance productivity, engagement, and retention, promoting a positive work environment.
- Embody and promote company values, including a commitment to maintaining high merchandising and operational standards.
- Build and lead diverse teams that embody a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging, celebrating individual differences and promoting a culture of respect.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
- Previous retail management experience, preferably in a departmental or specialty store setting.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop associates.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a focus on prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, as needed.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of retail operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and customer service.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
