Job Title:

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary:

MCW Group of Companies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop concept designs and complete load calculations, schematics, and equipment selection.
  2. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables.
  3. Prepare contract documents, including specifications.
  4. Conduct site visits during the construction phase.
  5. Ensure ASHRAE compliance and LEED where applicable.
  6. Update project schedules regularly.
  7. Evaluate shop drawing reviews.
  8. Provide project status reports to the Project Manager.
Requirements:
  1. Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  2. Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.) or eligibility for licensing in the Province of Ontario.
  3. 10+ years of engineering and/or design coordination experience in the consulting industry.
Preferred Skills:
  1. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT.
  2. Comprehensive knowledge of current engineering principles and practices.
  3. Experience conducting site visits.
  4. Ability to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members.
