Job Title: Early Childhood Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Assistant to join our team at Parkview Children's Centre. As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare centre and contributing to the development of our young learners.

Job Summary:

The Early Childhood Assistant will work under the supervision of our Early Childhood Educators to maintain a safe and engaging environment for children. This includes assisting with daily routines, preparing activities, and providing support to children as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean and organized childcare environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Assist Early Childhood Educators in planning and implementing activities that promote children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Engage children in activities such as storytelling, singing, and crafts, promoting their creativity and imagination.
  • Support children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Submit written observations on children to Early Childhood Educators or supervisors.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Previous experience in childcare or a related field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to lift and move children and equipment as needed.
