About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to take on a challenging role that involves hands-on fieldwork, project execution, and power system studies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high-voltage equipment, preparing project documentation, inspecting and testing switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, relays, cables, and related systems.

Liaising with customers to ensure efficient planning and needs are handled will also be a key aspect of this role, as well as ensuring compliance with industry standards such as CSA, IEEE, and NFPA.

As a member of our team, you will collaborate with colleagues to complete projects safely, on time, and within scope, adhering to strict safety protocols and BCES QA/QC processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high-voltage equipment
  • Prepare project documentation, including drawings, specifications, schedules, and estimates
  • Inspect and test switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, relays, cables, and related systems
  • Liaise with customers to ensure efficient planning and needs are handled
  • Power system modeling and analysis
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as CSA, IEEE, and NFPA
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects safely, on time, and within scope
Requirements:
  • NETA Certification or equivalent experience (NICET, utility or OEM training, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical testing standards (CSA, NFPA, IEEE)
  • 3-5 years of work experience in power and project management
  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Prior experience using CAD or REVIT
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Proficiency in using testing equipment such as Doble Power Factor sets, TTR testers, circuit breaker analyzers, and relay test sets
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
