Position Overview

Novelis, a leading aluminum recycling and rolling company, seeks an Electrical Systems Specialist to join its team. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, the company operates globally with 32 facilities across four continents.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and support in designing and maintaining electrical and automation systems and controls. This role is ideal for an experienced Electrical Engineer or Control/Systems Engineer looking to leverage their expertise in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Selecting electrical equipment and overseeing the completion of electrical layout drawings, cable sizing, and selection, routing, and scheduling as required for defined projects.
  • Completing equipment location plans, cable tray routing, loading, building, and sheltering electrical layouts and details.
  • Instrument and control device selection, sizing, and specification for defined projects.
  • Preparing input/output listings from project documents detailing hardware coordination with plant designs, including panel layout and design, PLC hardware, Allen Bradley, or Siemens controls.
  • Troubleshooting automation control problems and improving system performance in manufacturing environments.
  • Collaborating with contractors on project specification, control plan, system testing, and commissioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer or Control/Systems Engineer in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Experience developing scope of work using P&ID's, specifications, and project requirements to specify and complete electrical, instrument, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical control system programming using PLC brands.
  • Project experience with HMI products.
  • Proficiency in Electrical AutoCAD.
  • Electrical and control system commissioning and maintenance experience.
