Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead the design and delivery of transmission systems projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the interface between design, engineering, and asset management teams.

This position reports to the Client's Technical Director and is accountable for the overall project delivery. You will be supported by junior project engineers and work closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Act as the primary contact for technical requirements and compliance across all aspects of the engineering process.
  2. Monitor and track design deliverables and schedules, manage RFIs, design changes, NCRs, and ensure successful project completion.
  3. Support the construction team in resolving engineering issues during the construction phase and ensure compliance with technical design, HSE, budget, time, and quality requirements.
  4. Lead the compilation of project specifications and manage engineering project risks, reporting progress and proactively resolving issues to mitigate impact.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A high level of technical knowledge in transmission system design and construction.
  • Significant experience in delivering engineering outcomes, including project scope development, specification writing, managing design reviews, onsite inspection, and safety in design processes.
  • Understanding of transmission system reliability and performance, substation and transmission system components, operation, and relevant legislation, Australian Standards, and Government policy guidelines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, managing multiple stakeholders and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent, and ideally NER, CPEng, and/or RPEQ certifications.
