Food and Beverage Operations Manager

Job Summary
As a key member of our Marriott International team, the Assistant Food and Beverage Operations Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food and beverage services. This position is responsible for supervising daily F&B/culinary shift operations, monitoring compliance with all F&B policies, standards, and procedures, and assisting in the ordering of F&B supplies, cleaning supplies, and uniforms.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting in Managing Day-to-Day Operations
• Orders Food and Beverage (F&B) supplies, cleaning supplies, and uniforms to maintain a well-stocked and efficient operation.
• Supervises daily F&B/culinary shift operations, ensuring that all staff are working together to provide exceptional guest service and meet financial objectives.
• Supports and supervises an effective monthly self-inspection program to maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness.
• Operates all department equipment as necessary and reports any malfunctions to ensure seamless operations.
• Supervises staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.
• Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members to create a positive and productive work environment.
• Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Maintains the operating budget, verifying that standards and legal obligations are followed.
Providing Exceptional Customer Service
• Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention, ensuring that every guest has a positive experience.
• Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors, setting a positive example for guest relations.
• Manages day-to-day operations, monitors quality, and standards, and meets the expectations of the customers on a daily basis.
• Takes proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns, ensuring that every issue is resolved promptly and professionally.
Additional Responsibilities
• Provides information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, in written form, email, or in person, ensuring that all communication is clear and concise.
• Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems, ensuring that all decisions are well-informed and effective.
• Performs hourly job functions if necessary, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
• Extends professionalism and courtesy to team members at all times, maintaining a positive and respectful work environment.
• Maintains budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports, ensuring that all financial information is accurate and up-to-date.
• Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and flexibility.
