Chipper Crew Operator

As a skilled Chipper Crew Worker at Canfor, you will be an integral part of our sawmill manufacturing facility team. This entry-level position offers on-the-job training, allowing you to develop your skills and advance to the next wage level/position and grow within your career. You will work alongside an innovative leader in the forest products industry, contributing to a safe and efficient work environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Shoveling, lifting, carrying boards and debris with exposure to the elements while maintaining the overall cleanliness of the site.
- Rotating through various job responsibilities and tasks within your assigned area, ensuring accuracy and precision, and adhering to schedules to maintain production timeliness.
- Taking responsibility for contributing to a safe work environment for coworkers, customers, and site visitors.
For this role, you will possess a safety-driven mindset, be able to perform repetitive, manual tasks for extended periods, including piling lumber, standing for long hours, walking, shoveling, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Experience with and/or around machinery and equipment is an asset but not mandatory. Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers are also required. A high degree of urgency and attention to detail is necessary to succeed in this position.
