Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $21,730 per year, paid bi-weekly, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for career growth and development.

Job Description

As an Operations Support Representative, you will provide administrative support to FortisBC's gas and electric operations, focusing on the Order Fulfillment, Operate & Maintain, Emergency, Design and Meter-to-Cash process steps.

  1. Initiating and Preparing
  2. Scheduling and Dispatching
  3. Field work support and logistics
  4. Closing and Completion

You will perform all duties associated with Operations Support Clerk 2 (OSR) plus the following:

  1. Answers non-routine enquiries and provides detailed job information to crews, customers, other utilities and government authorities.
  2. Analyzes, interprets and communicates various information to support the operations group.
  3. Receives or initiates reports of system faults or damage and follows FortisBC procedures to notify and assign personnel.
  4. Processes work orders and notifications.
  5. Maintains contact with Field Resources regarding scheduled and on-going work and completion dates and information.
  6. May act as primary telephone contact for inbound customer calls to capture customer requirements.
  7. Performs related duties of a minor nature related to the above duties.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High School graduation including courses in office practices and business communications.
  • Nine (9) months directly related relevant work experience.
  • Sound organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure.
  • Sound verbal communication skills, including telephone call handling skills and tact and diplomacy.
  • Sound written communication skills, including the ability to correct spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors.
  • Courteous, professional manner in dealing with internal and external contacts.
  • Fast, accurate keyboarding skills, including the ability to format various types of correspondence and reports.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems operations and software applications, including SAP and MS Office products.
  • Sound knowledge of field or network operations processes and procedures.
  • Solid analytical and decision making skills.
  • Ability to interpret data from a variety of sources.
