Job Overview

This role is responsible for providing administrative support to our gas and electric operations teams. You'll be working on a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Preparing and initiating orders
  • Scheduling and dispatching field crews
  • Providing logistics and field work support
  • Closing and completing orders

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Answering non-routine enquiries and providing detailed job information to crews, customers, other utilities, and government authorities
  • Analyzing and interpreting various data to support operations teams
  • Notifying and assigning personnel and contacting external parties as required
  • Processing work orders and notifications
  • Entering and correcting field completion data
  • Ordering and arranging resources, materials, and equipment
  • Maintaining records and contact with field resources
  • Providing direction to junior staff members

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • High school graduation with courses in office practices and business communications
  • Nine months of directly related relevant work experience
  • Sound organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure
  • Strong verbal communication skills, including telephone call handling skills
  • Sound written communication skills, including the ability to correct spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors
  • A courteous and professional manner when dealing with internal and external contacts
  • Fast and accurate keyboarding skills (60 words per minute)
  • A working knowledge of computer systems operations, environment, and peripherals
  • A sound working knowledge of various applications software
