Senior Appraisal Unit Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Appraisal Unit Manager to join our team in Calgary. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in managing the day-to-day operations of our Field Appraisal team.

About the Role
  • You will direct and coordinate activities to achieve quality and compliance objectives for repairs performed by vendors, in accordance with Intact policies and standards.
  • As a resource person, you will provide support to internal and external estimators, as well as various Intact resources, answering their questions and providing guidance.
  • You will oversee technical aspects, focusing on indemnity and expense control, while ensuring optimal customer experience.
  • You will also be responsible for providing training and technical support to employees, staying up-to-date on software and techniques used.
  • In addition, you will perform quality control of estimates produced by in-house appraisers and body shops, ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
  • You will increase efficiency by participating in analysis and recommendations development.
  • You will manage your team's activities, organizing, planning, and controlling the optimal use of human, financial, and material resources within budget, promoting teamwork.
  • You will also support trusted network teams for complaints related to estimates.
Requirements
  • A college diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three to five years of management, coaching, and mentoring experience is an asset, preferably in a claims environment.
  • Knowledge of the appraisal process and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Project management and change management skills are assets.
  • Ability to engage and mobilize a team.
  • Skill to build relationships based on trust and collaboration.
