About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Loss Adjuster to join our Property Large Loss team. In this critical role, you will handle large and complex commercial property claims through all distribution channels.

  • You will manage, investigate, analyze, negotiate and resolve large and complex commercial property claims generally with exposures over $1M or involving specialized kinds of loss.
  • You will engage and manage internal and external counsel, consultants, adjusters, accountants, appraisers and engineers to confirm coverage, determine liability and assess damages.
  • You will mentor, guide and provide technical advice to regional file handlers to ensure consistent and effective claims handling and support long-term succession planning.
  • You will train colleagues on complex claims handling.
  • You will work with Underwriting, Loss Prevention and other stakeholders to identify potential risks, hazards and trends, sharing feedback and lessons learned.
  • You will provide brilliant customer service to brokers, customers, and colleagues.
  • You will deliver key performance indicators as it relates to loss development and loss adjustment expenses, claims leakage control and expense management.
Your Qualifications
  • You have 10+ years of experience in direct handling of large and complex commercial property claims.
  • You have appropriate knowledge of all relevant regulatory and legal requirements applicable to the position.
  • You hold an undergraduate degree or CIP designation (asset).
