About the Role:

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Health Care Aide to join our team in providing high-quality patient care in a medical inpatient acute care setting. As a Health Care Aide, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, working collaboratively to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal assistance and support services to patients who require short-term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with patients, families, and caregivers to assist with activities of daily living, including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
  • Assist nurses with the provision of routine care, including observing and reporting on patient mood, health, and wellbeing.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

Requirements:

  • Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
  • Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory.
  • Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-year Acute Care experience (within the last three years).
  • Connect Care training preferred.
