Job Title: Manager, Corporate Reporting

Tricon Residential is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Corporate Reporting to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring senior accountants, directing and reviewing balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations, and overseeing the internal monthly reporting process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to senior accountants to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Direct and review balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations for income-producing business segments to ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards.
  • Oversee the internal monthly reporting process, reviewing monthly reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and review financial statements for private investors, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Assist in the preparation of corporate financial statements and management reports, providing analytical insights to support business decisions.
  • Review and analyze financial reports to identify trends and areas for improvement, providing recommendations to management.
  • Research and provide guidance on accounting matters, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure results are consistent with plans and provide variance analysis as required.
  • Support the accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including oversight of the monthly close calendar.
  • Assist with the annual audit process, including responding to audit inquiries, preparing or reviewing requested documents, testing internal controls, and preparing financial statements.
  • Contribute to the annual budget process and quarterly reforecast, providing financial insights to support business planning.
  • Improve and automate workbooks to enhance accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.
  • Review and approve journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Implement system and process improvements to enhance financial reporting and analysis.
  • Enforce proper internal controls to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting.
Qualifications:
  • University degree in Finance, Commerce, or relevant field, and CPA certification.
  • 4+ years of manager and/or leadership experience, preferably in a Big 4 firm.
  • Thorough knowledge of IFRS accounting and financial reporting standards.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail and high standards for work quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with other Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or Yardi and/or Microsoft Dynamics NAV an asset.
  • Residential real estate experience preferred.
