Job Title: Manager, Corporate Reporting

Tricon Residential is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Corporate Reporting to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading the corporate reporting team and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to senior accountants in the preparation of financial reports
  • Direct and review balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations for income-producing business segments
  • Oversee the internal monthly reporting process and review monthly reports
  • Prepare financial statements for private investors and assist in the preparation of corporate financial statements and management reports
  • Review analytical financial reports to assist with month-end variance analysis
  • Research accounting matters and provide guidance on industry standards
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure results are consistent with plans and offer any variance analysis as required
  • Support accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close, including oversight of the monthly close calendar
  • Assist with the annual audit process, including responding to audit inquiries, preparation or review of requested documents, testing of internal controls, and preparation of financial statements
  • Assist with annual budget process and quarterly reforecast
  • Improve and automate workbooks to enhance accuracy of financial reporting
  • Review and approve journal entries
  • Implement system and process improvements
  • Enforce proper internal controls
  • Work with executive/senior management on special projects, as required
Qualifications:
  • University degree in Finance, Commerce (or relevant field) and CPA certified
  • 4+ years of manager and/or leadership experience (Big 4 experience strongly preferred)
  • Thorough knowledge of IFRS accounting and financial reporting
  • A self-starter who is able to work independently in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and adheres to high standards for work quality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are mandatory
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with other Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Yardi and/or Microsoft Dynamics NAV an asset
  • Residential real estate experience preferred
